Income distribution in agriculture in context of inclusive development

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to investigate the inclusion of those employed in agriculture in the distribution of economic performance as a direction of achieving the key goals of inclusive rural development. Research methods. To achieve the article’s purpose we used the following methods: analysis and synthesis (to investigate the processes of generating economic benefits in agriculture); statistical methods (to analyse an income inequality between beneficiaries); comparative analysis (to identify common and distinctive features of the distribution of value added in agriculture in Ukraine and EU countries); empirical (for complex analysis of current employment in agriculture); abstract and logical method (to summarize the conclusions and formulate the proposals). Research results. Investigating the processes of economic growth in agriculture, it was revealed the confirmation of the income inequality. This inequality occurs both at the inter-sectoral (the corporate and individual sectors) and at the intra-sectoral (within the mentioned sectors) levels. The resulting differences in growth rates of incomes for the main beneficiaries of economic activity in agriculture conflict with the principles of inclusive development. It was established that overcoming the income inequality is partially limited by macroeconomic principles of development and specific features of the agricultural sector, which are inherent in European countries too. Elements of scientific novelty. The results of the study contain elements of scientific novelty concerning the identification of macroeconomic imbalances of the income inequality from economic growth in agriculture. Practical significance. There were substantiated directions and measures of the regulation of the income inequality from economic activities in the agricultural sector in order to enhance the inclusiveness of development.Tabl.: 2.
