Ekonomika APK considers complaints and appeals objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Submission of complaints
Complaints may concern:
- breaches of editorial procedures;
- inappropriate conduct by an editor, reviewer, or member of the editorial staff;
- breaches of confidentiality;
- undisclosed conflict of interest;
- unjustified delays in the consideration of a manuscript;
- possible breaches of publication ethics.
Complaints must be submitted by email to info@eapk.com.ua.
The complaint should include the complainant’s name, the manuscript number or article DOI, a concise description of the issue, and, where possible, supporting evidence.
The editorial team acknowledges receipt of the complaint and normally provides a response within 30 working days. Where the matter requires additional investigation, the complainant is informed that the review period has been extended.
The complaint is considered by the Editor-in-Chief or another editor who has no conflict of interest. Where the complaint concerns the Editor-in-Chief, it is considered by the Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Where the Deputy Editor-in-Chief also has a conflict of interest, the Editorial Board appoints an independent member of the Board or an external expert.
The person whose conduct is the subject of the complaint must not participate in making the final decision.
The editorial team may decline to consider a complaint where it does not relate to the journal’s activities, contains no specific factual information, or repeats a previously considered complaint without providing new evidence. Abusive or threatening language is not acceptable; however, any report of a potentially serious breach will still undergo a preliminary assessment.
Submission of appeals
An appeal is a reasoned request by an author for reconsideration of an editorial decision concerning a manuscript.
An appeal must be submitted to info@eapk.com.ua within 30 calendar days of receipt of the editorial decision. The appeal must include:
- the manuscript number and title;
- the date of the editorial decision;
- a clear explanation of the alleged factual or procedural error;
- responses to the contested comments of the editor or reviewers;
- supporting evidence.
Disagreement with a decision without adequate justification is not sufficient grounds for reconsideration.
The appeal is considered by an editor or an independent member of the Editorial Board who was not involved in the original decision and has no conflict of interest. Where necessary, the manuscript may be sent for additional independent peer review.
Following consideration of the appeal, the editorial team may:
- uphold the original decision;
- reopen consideration of the manuscript;
- send the manuscript for additional peer review;
- request further revision;
- amend the editorial decision.
A successful appeal does not guarantee acceptance of the article for publication. The final decision on the appeal is communicated to the author in writing.
