Milk sector development in the context of ensuring of food safety in Ukraine

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the main trends of Ukrainian dairy sector development and outline its perspectives in the context of ensuring of food safety. Research methodology. In the research process such methods were used: dialectic, abstract and logical, system analysis, induction and deduction. Research results. The complex analysis of functioning of Ukrainian dairy sector, in particular dynamics of dairy cattle breeding, structural transformations by different categories of farms, main tendencies of dairy processing enterprises, price trends, export and import operations, changes in the behavior of milk and dairy products consumers and etc., has been carried out. The main directions of development of the dairy sector in the context of food security have been determined. Elements of scientific novelty. The directions of development of the dairy sector in terms of European integration and globalization of the national economy in context of ensuring of food security of the state have been substantiated. There’ve been determined the main priorities of the dairy sector development, for example, improvement of the quality of raw milk, transformation of private peasant households into family or private farms. Practical significance. Recommendations can be used by agricultural enterprises, private peasant households or family farms. Figs.: 2. Refs.: 21
