Statistical analysis of meat consumption and meat products in Ukraine

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the volume of production and consumption of meat and meat products per capita in Ukraine, to identify the presence and density of the link between the supply and demand of meat in general and by types, as well as to determine the variation of the productive feature of the factors affecting her.

Research methods. The following methods were used in the research process: abstract-logical - to formulate conclusions; monograph - detailing meat production in Ukraine in general and by type; benchmarking and series of dynamics - to compare indicators and identify trends in their changes over time; statistical - in the analysis of supply and demand for meat and meat products; graphic - to identify and illustrate the trends of the studied economic phenomena; economic and mathematical methods - in determining the density and direction of the relationship between performance and factor traits, as well as to determine the impact of individual independent variables on the variation of meat and meat consumption in Ukraine.

Research results. The current state of production and consumption of meat and meat products in Ukraine is analyzed, the main changes in the supply and demand of meat are determined, the density and direction of the connection between consumption and the factors that cause it are determined, and the cause and effect dependencies are revealed between consumption and supply of meat and meat products in Ukraine.

Scientific novelty. Analytical assessments and determinants of the impact of major factors on the consumption of meat and meat products in Ukraine have been further developed.

Practical significance. The results of the study will be useful for producers and consumers of meat and meat products, as well as stakeholders in the food chain. Reasonable conclusions can serve as a benchmark for government officials in developing a longterm livestock policy in Ukraine
